If you are new to yoga, the best classes to start with are Introduction to Yoga, Basic Yoga, Ashaya Level 1, Gentle Yoga, or Restorative Yoga.
Introduction to Yoga is an 8 week series, designed for people who want a systematic introduction to the practice. Students will learn the basic postures, breathing techniques, the parts of a Sun Salutation, relaxation techniques, and some basic yoga philosophy. No prior yoga experience is expected.
Basic Yoga is a class for beginners or for students who may already have some yoga experience and want to refine their alignment in the fundamental poses.
Ashaya Level 1 is also suitable for beginners. This class is similar to a Basic class, but will include beginning inversions, sun salutations, and a wide variety of poses.
Gentle Yoga is a more relaxing class where you access the fluid movements of your spine and hips to create a feeling of freedom in the body. This class often ends with a 20 minute Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation.) This gentle class is also ideal for people with physical restrictions in the hips, knees, or shoulders.
Restorative Yoga includes gentle stretches and supported poses for a very relaxing experience. Some poses will be held for a longer time (5-15 minutes) supported by props to allow full release and relaxation of muscle tension.

Wear comfortable clothes: t-shirts, shorts, tights, or leggings. Leave cell phones, gum, shoes and your worries at the door! Do not eat for 2-3 hours before class, and please do not wear heavy jewelry or strong fragrances to class. All yoga props (including premium Manduka Pro mats) are supplied for free. Additional parking is available behind the yoga center.
