Ashaya Deepening:

36 Hour Online Yoga Intensive

October/November 2020

You are ready to take your yoga practice deeper- deeper into understanding, deeper into the alignment technique, and deeper into your heart.

The Ashaya Deepening Intensives are an in-depth experience of Ashaya Yoga®. They aren’t about doing crazy poses, they are about deepening your connection to the therapeutic and heart-opening power of yoga. Through 36 hours of focused study and practice, you will learn so much more about the “how” and the “why” of the poses and the philosophy than could possibly be accomplished in a 90 minute yoga class. You will advance your practice from wherever it is now, and expand your insight into the Ashaya philosophy of Kashmir Shaiva Tantra. This program requires a deep commitment to yourself. Drop-ins or partial registrations are not allowed.

If you are considering becoming a yoga teacher, Deepening will give you a great foundation to build on in yoga teacher training. But this program itself is not about teaching. There is no focus on teaching at all, only on learning and understanding.

Ashaya Deepening Intensive Includes:

  • Two yoga asana practices each day. Classes will focus on detailed alignment and will include basic anatomy. You will learn the 4 Essentials of Ashaya Yoga and how to bring them into any pose or practice

  • Yoga philosophy discussions. We will go deep into the Mahabhutas (the Great Elements). We will also touch on foundational concepts from yoga philosophy that are both empowering and heart-opening.

  • Simple instructions for meditation & pranayama (yoga breathing)

  • Personal reflection & integration time

  • A supportive community of fellow explorers on the yogic path

  • Class size is limited to 12 participants, for individualized instruction over Zoom

photo of CherylCheryl loves the depth and intensity of Ashaya Yoga. She feels that the purpose of yoga is not to do the most difficult asanas, but is to go deeper into the understanding of the Self through the body, and connect to the Heart. Ashaya Yoga invites students to look at the places where yoga (and life) is challenging, and encourages everyone to connect to their own authenticity. Cheryl teaches authentically from her heart in order to help her students bring about their own transformation.

FAQs

Does this qualify for CEUs for Yoga Alliance and/or Ashaya Yoga®?

YES! Cheryl is a Yoga Alliance approved continuing education provider (YACEP) and an Ashaya Yoga® continuing education provider. You will qualify for 36 hours of CEUs in this program.

What is the practice level? Can I come if I am new to yoga?

The yoga practices will be specifically designed to meet the level of the group. Yogis of all levels are welcome in the Intensive, but it is suggested that you have practiced yoga for 6 months or longer. Many variations on poses will be offered – from basic to more advanced. The emphasis will be more on the alignment than on the outer form of the pose. Contact Cheryl if you have questions.

What are the payment arrangements?

Payment in full is due at the time of registration. Partial Scholarships are available if you have financial need.

What if I need to miss part of the Intensive, do you give a discount?

We will miss you if you aren’t with us! No discount is given for missed time in the Deepening Intensives. All sessions will be recorded, so if you miss a session, you can access the recording afterward.

I still have questions, can we talk?

Absolutely! Please send an email to start the conversation. Cheryl is happy to answer questions over email or more directly over the phone or in person.
